Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Little Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.
An inside leg kick lands from Guy.
Guy tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Smith jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Guy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Guy and Smith has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Smith has hold of Guy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Guy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Smith has control of Guy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Guy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Guy bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Guy won't allow Smith to sweep him here.
Smith has his foot on Guy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guy works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Smith checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guy's guard now.

Guy tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
Guy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Smith is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.
Guy is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.
Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Guy defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Smith.

Smith fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Guy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Smith is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Smith!
