Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keast Kann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Szczevnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Keast Kann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Szczevnikov!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kann works Szczevnikov's body with a nice hook.
Szczevnikov on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kann connects with a jab.
Szczevnikov misses with a takedown
and Szczevnikov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Szczevnikov has his takedown stuffed
and Kann counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Kann counters with a single leg into guard. Szczevnikov didn't expect that.
Keast Kann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Szczevnikov.
Kann chips away with some ground and pound.
Kann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kann sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Szczevnikov's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kann wants to take a breather but Szczevnikov is having none of it.

Kann seems to be working for a kimura but Szczevnikov defends the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kann trying to control the action but Szczevnikov is working from the bottom.

Szczevnikov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Szczevnikov looking for a sweep. Not yet Szczevnikov, not yet.
Kann scoring with punches to the head and body.
Szczevnikov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kann is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Szczevnikov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kann trying to control the position from guard on top but Szczevnikov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kann is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Szczevnikov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Keast Kann just wasn't active enough.

Kann shoots in and bounces Szczevnikov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kann trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kann stays in close to Szczevnikov's body and controls the position.

Szczevnikov is pulling down on Kann's head to control his posture.

Kann fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Szczevnikov fails with the takedown
and Kann counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Kann counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kann throws a shot to the body.
Kann moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Szczevnikov on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Szczevnikov walks into a straight right hand from Kann.
Szczevnikov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kann connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Szczevnikov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Kann shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Szczevnikov's guard.
Kann lands a couple of elbows.
Kann connects with a couple of short punches.
Kann trying to control the position from guard on top but Szczevnikov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kann drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kann as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Szczevnikov screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kann! Nice submission victory there!
