PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Beano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Lugon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lugon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Roulette-System of a down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Gray Lugon struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Gray Lugon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonny Beano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Gray Lugon!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beano shoots and misses

and Lugon moves into the clinch.
Lugon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lugon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lugon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beano walks away with a smile on his face. Lugon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Beano shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lugon defends it nicely.
Lugon stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Beano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beano changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lugon tries to avoid it but Beano manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lugon to the ground. Lugon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Beano counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Beano is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lugon defends it well.
Beano throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Beano is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Beano uses his free foot to push down on Lugon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lugon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beano tries to get the hooks in deep but Lugon pushed the leg off.
Beano just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Beano working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Lugon is doing well to defend. Beano seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Lugon is forced to tap and this one is over!
