The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barksdale looks to land a combination but Everett avoids it well.
Nice takedown defense from Barksdale. No joy for Everett on that attempt.
Everett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barksdale circles away.
Barksdale tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Everett takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Barksdale bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The referee asks Barksdale politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barksdale prefers to stall for the moment though.

Barksdale decides to stand up, so the ref orders Everett to his feet.
Barksdale misses with a series of wild punches.
Barksdale throws a series of strikes that have Everett backpedaling.
Everett has his takedown stuffed

and Barksdale counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Everett's guard now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Everett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Everett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barksdale gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Everett manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barksdale manages to get himself to full guard.

Everett drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Everett seems to have locked his on tight now - Barksdale screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Everett, as he picks up the win!
