PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Rodinerio Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Titou Ortizzz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo comes to the cage accompanied by RJD2 - Since we last spoke. Titou Ortizzz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortizzz looks to land a right hand but Bravo moved out of range.
Bravo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ortizzz.
Ortizzz connects with a body shot that sends Bravo 's belly button to the back.

Bravo has picked Ortizzz up - he's going for a ride! Bravo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Ortizzz looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bravo uses his free foot to push down on Ortizzz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ortizzz.

Bravo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ortizzz is now in Bravo 's guard. A big mistake from Bravo there, giving up the dominant position!
Ortizzz tries to stand but Bravo is controlling from the bottom.
Ortizzz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Ortizzz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bravo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ortizzz has managed to get both his arms back between Bravo 's legs - danger averted.

Bravo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ortizzz defends well.
Ortizzz wanted to stand there but Bravo had control of the position.
Ortizzz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bravo . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ortizzz is fighting to break Bravo 's control of his arms but Bravo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Ortizzz won't allow Bravo to sweep him here.

Ortizzz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bravo , up you get!
Ortizzz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bravo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ortizzz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bravo wants the takedown. Ortizzz is fighting it off but Bravo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ortizzz's guard against the cage.
Ortizzz wants to get back to his feet but Bravo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bravo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ortizzz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ortizzz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ortizzz!

Ortizzz tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bravo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ortizzz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Ortizzz tries to stand and escape but Bravo actually recovers to full guard.
Bravo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bravo is keen to just control but Ortizzz is a slippery customer.
Ortizzz pushes Bravo off looking to stand but Bravo dives back in and keeps control.

Bravo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ortizzz defends it easily.

Ortizzz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ortizzz wants to get up but he can't break Bravo 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
