Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hines Parker!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Novikov moves into the clinch successfully.

Parker breaks from the clinch.
Novikov has his takedown stuffed
and Parker counters with a straight right hand.

Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker is taking a breather. Novikov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Parker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parker connects with a nice short shot to Novikov's temple.

Parker is working for a submission of some sort.
Novikov is trying to stand back up but Parker is controlling him
Novikov is trying to get back to full guard.
Novikov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Parker scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Novikov defending well though.

Novikov wants to get back to full guard.
Parker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Parker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Novikov trying to hold on to Parker's head to control him but Parker postures up.

Parker is working for a kimura but Novikov is defending it quite comfortably.

Parker decides to return to a standing position.
Novikov misses with a takedown attempt

and Parker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Novikov moves to clinch but Parker breaks away

and Parker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Novikov won't be happy with that.
Novikov is looking for a sweep.
Novikov takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parker lands a few punches from side control.
A big shot lands for Parker! That's hurt Novikov! Will he recover? Parker fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
