Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladamir Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladamir Drago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Stevens decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drago's waist but Drago gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side.
Stevens shoots in for a double leg but Drago sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Drago gets caught flat footed, as Stevens shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Drago is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Drago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stevens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stevens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Drago is retaining full guard.

Drago is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Drago looking for a sweep. Not yet Drago, not yet.

Stevens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stevens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Drago manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stevens is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Stevens looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Stevens is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Stevens is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Stevens looks gassed!
Drago lands shots from the back.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stevens rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Stevens wants to get back to full guard.
Drago is looking to take a break and control but Stevens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Drago looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stevens with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Stevens actively working from the bottom here.
Drago wants to stand but Stevens has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Stevens tries to roll over but Drago keeps him under control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stevens blocks the body kick.

Drago tries for a kimura but Stevens is defending well.

Drago has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Stevens has a takedown stuffed.
Vladamir Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Stevens.
Drago misses with a takedown

and Stevens counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Drago!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stevens is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Drago tries for a takedown but Stevens circles away easily
and Stevens counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Drago tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Drago tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Stevens counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stevens wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Drago, who protects the arm well.

Stevens is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Drago is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drago regains half guard.
Stevens tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Drago.
Stevens trying to mount his opponent but Drago defends it.
Stevens seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Stevens lands with a punch from half guard.
Drago is looking for a sweep. Stevens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Drago manages to escape and get back to his feet!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Drago shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Drago fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stevens sprawls well initially but Drago persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Drago is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Stevens dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Stevens shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drago's guard.
Stevens passes Drago's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Drago slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Stevens wants to control from the top but Drago keeps moving.
Stevens with a flurry of punches that miss.

Drago is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stevens has his hands clasped together but Drago extends an breaks Stevens's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Drago.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vladamir Drago!
