The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Patterson fails with the takedown
letting Wasabi counter with a right hand.
Wasabi misses with a head kick.
Wasabi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Patterson has his takedown stuffed
and Wasabi counters with a nice body shot.
Wasabi thows a body shot but no joy.
Wasabi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Patterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wasabi.
Wasabi throws a shot from downtown. Patterson moves away and avoids it.
Wasabi misses with a wild body shot.
Wasabi tests Patterson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Patterson misses with a takedown
and Wasabi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Patterson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Patterson throws a combination that misses
and Wasabi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wasabi. That's going to slow Patterson down.
Wasabi connects with a body shot that sends Patterson's belly button to the back.
Wasabi throws a one two combo.
Patterson tries for a takedown but Wasabi circles away easily
and Wasabi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Patterson is breathing heavily.
Patterson takes one on the button.
Patterson fails with the takedown
and Wasabi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Patterson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wasabi pushes Patterson up against the cage in a clinch.
Wasabi lands with a short head shot on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wasabi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body punch from Wasabi.
Wasabi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patterson manages to avoid it.

Wasabi lands a left and a right that send Patterson crashing to the mat, dazed. Wasabi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Patterson is rocked!

It looks like Pete Patterson has been cut.
Patterson leaves his chin hanging out and Wasabi seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Patterson crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
