The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winchester looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Winchester wants to control but Schafer is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dan Winchester hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Schafer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Dan Winchester has been cut.
Dan Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schafer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Winchester checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Nice defenses there by Winchester.

Winchester closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Winchester is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schafer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Winchester looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Winchester has hold of Schafer's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Schafer seems comfortable defending it but Winchester has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Schafer is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Schafer is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Winchester couldn't care less - he's delighted!
