PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simen Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diogo Barbossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Diogo Barbossa was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Barbossa.

and Nielsen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Simen Nielsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diogo Barbossa.

Nielsen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barbossa.

and Barbossa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Barbossa keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nielsen's head.
Nielsen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Barbossa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nielsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nielsen has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Barbossa should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nielsen has tightened it up now! Barbossa should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
