Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Thiago is trying to control but can't.
Thiago tries to get to full guard but Frey has control of the leg.

Frey wants to free his trapped foot but Thiago is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Frey stalling away here and it's allowed Thiago to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Thiago has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Frey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Thiago.

You can see the frustration on Thiago's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Thiago is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Frey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Frey looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Thiago tries to improve position but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Frey decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Thiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Thiago is tightening it up a little... Frey has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Frey reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Frey taps out! nice BJJ there by Thiago!
