Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Cody McKenzie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKenzie gets a takedown into half guard.
Maia avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McKenzie.

McKenzie lands a big elbow.
Maia looks gassed!
McKenzie lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
McKenzie with shots to the head and body - Maia looks very uncomfortable down there.

McKenzie is landing with some decent strikes but Maia is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McKenzie loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Maia scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from McKenzie land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. McKenzie stands and salutes the crowd.
