Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefan Roosmalen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Stefan Roosmalen enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roosmalen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Johnson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Roosmalen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Roosmalen lands a big shot there that rocks Johnson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Roosmalen's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Roosmalen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Johnson turns into him and now he's in Roosmalen's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roosmalen is on top in guard.

Roosmalen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson!
Johnson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Roosmalen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Stefan Roosmalen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Roosmalen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Roosmalen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.

Stefan Roosmalen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roosmalen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Roosmalen is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Roosmalen to get the leverage.
Roosmalen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Roosmalen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Roosmalen wants to free his trapped foot but Johnson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stefan Roosmalen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson throws a combination that misses
and Roosmalen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Johnson's knee momentarily.

and Roosmalen counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnson darts in trying to clinch

and Roosmalen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson!

Roosmalen with shots to the head and body - Johnson looks very uncomfortable down there.

Johnson tries to hold on but Roosmalen postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stefan Roosmalen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Well Roosmalen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
