The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyce slips a jab and a cross from Drury.
Boyce throws a body punch but Drury moves out of range.
Boyce looks to land a combination but Drury avoids it well.
Boyce scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Boyce throws a series of punches but Drury moves out of range.
Boyce misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Drury tries to clinch but Boyce is having none of it.

and Drury counters with a single leg into guard. Boyce didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Drury prevents Boyce from standing back up.
Drury thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boyce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Drury takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Drury stands up and beckons Boyce to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Drury looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Drury shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Boyce misses with the combination.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Drury has hold of Boyce's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Boyce tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Drury cranks the arm and Boyce screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Boyce, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
