The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw has his takedown stuffed
and Greco counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Greco is trying to control the action in half guard but Shaw is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Greco wants to pass the guard but Shaw is defending well.
Shaw moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Greco won't allow Shaw to sweep him here.
Shaw is looking for a triangle but Greco pushes his legs off easily.

Greco postures up and lands a big shot to Shaw's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greco throws a strike but Shaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Shaw tries to stand but Greco is controlling from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Greco is on top in guard.
Greco is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Shaw wants to sweep here but Greco controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Greco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Shaw lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Greco avoids the body shot from Shaw.
Shaw swings for the body but Greco moves out of range.
Shaw lands the left hand.
Greco moves out of range of the strikes.
Greco keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shaw swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Greco takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shaw scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Shaw misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Greco.
Shaw throws a body punch but Greco moves out of range.
Shaw throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Greco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Greco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shaw.
Shaw connects with a crisp jab.
Shaw fails with the takedown
and Greco counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bader Greco dominated that round.

Greco shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shaw napping and manages to drive through into side control!

It looks like Sam Shaw has been cut.
Greco loads up with a big shot that hurts Shaw! He's pulled Greco in close but Greco has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Shaw survive? More strikes from Greco and Shaw is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
