PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pudas Jaervi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lasse Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Pudas Jaervi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Pudas Jaervi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pudas Jaervi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lasse Lock!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaervi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Lock gets a takedown into half guard.
Lock wants to take a breather but Jaervi is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jaervi is trying to stand back up but Lock is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lock passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jaervi!

Lock is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jaervi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jaervi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lock on the ground.
Lock won't let Jaervi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Jaervi is in a horrible position here. Lock smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lock trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Lock connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Lock lands a heavy elbow.
Jaervi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Lock controlling his opponent.
Lock wants to control the pace but Jaervi is squirming around nicely.
Jaervi is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Lock tries to control but Jaervi wriggling away.
Jaervi really wants to buck Lock off and get back to his feet.
Lock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Jaervi really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Jaervi is breathing heavily.
Jaervi tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Lock has taken his back.
Jaervi has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
