Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Helio Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lappin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Helio Alkofer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Lappin!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lappin misses with an uppercut
letting Alkofer counter with a right hand.

Alkofer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alkofer lands in his opponent's guard.
Alkofer prevents Lappin from getting back to his feet.
Alkofer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Alkofer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lappin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alkofer, into his guard.

Alkofer is working an open guard so Lappin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Lappin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Alkofer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alkofer won't allow Lappin to get back to his feet.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alkofer won't allow Lappin to get back to his feet.

Alkofer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alkofer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Alkofer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lappin wants to sweep but no luck.
Lappin is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Alkofer dives into side control.
Lappin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Alkofer asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lappin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alkofer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Alkofer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lappin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Alkofer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Alkofer tries for a kimura but Lappin is defending well.
Lappin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Alkofer has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Lappin looks gassed!

Alkofer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lappin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Alkofer is trying to get an arm triangle but Lappin is defending well.
Alkofer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lappin pushes Alkofer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alkofer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Alkofer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lappin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Alkofer but great work by Lappin.

Lappin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alkofer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alkofer takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Alkofer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Helio Alkofer dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Alkofer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Alkofer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lappin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lappin has escaped and now he's on top!

Alkofer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alkofer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lappin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lappin is looking to stand up but Alkofer won't let him.
Lappin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Alkofer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lappin has picked Alkofer up and slammed him! Alkofer can't keep hold of the triangle and Lappin manages to pass to side control!
Alkofer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lappin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lappin stands up.

Lappin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alkofer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lappin is in Alkofer's guard.
Lappin is looking to stand up but Alkofer won't let him.
Alkofer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lappin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lappin wants to stand and escape but instead Alkofer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Alkofer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lappin trying to keep a closed guard but Alkofer is proving a slippery customer.

Alkofer drops back looking for a leg! Lappin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lappin manages to kick Alkofer off! Alkofer jumps back into Lappin's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Alkofer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lappin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alkofer, into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Lappin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lappin misses with a jab to the body

and Alkofer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lappin's guard.

Lappin wants to stand up but Alkofer is controlling him.
Alkofer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lappin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alkofer wants to control from the top but Lappin keeps moving.
Lappin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We're going to have a standup here because Helio Alkofer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Alkofer feints and as Lappin raises his hands in defense, Alkofer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lappin wants to stand and escape but Alkofer is having none of it.

Alkofer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alkofer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lappin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Alkofer off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Alkofer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Alkofer avoids the attempt from Lappin to control.
Lappin is trying to escape the mount but Alkofer keeps good control and instead manages to take Lappin's back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lappin trying to get back to his feet but Alkofer is in full control for now.

Alkofer is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lappin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lappin for a finish.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lappin is trying to defend against the choke here but Alkofer has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Alkofer Tightens the hold and Lappin taps out furiously! Alkofer displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
