Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kileki Kawike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Mountbatten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawike's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Anthrax w/ Public Enemy - Bring the Noise. Mountbatten has chosen Last Resort as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Mountbatten!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountbatten throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kawike scores with a takedown into Mountbatten's guard.
Kawike working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kawike throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mountbatten keeping full guard, as Kawike tries to pass.

Kawike has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mountbatten can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kileki Kawike wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kawike lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kawike uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mountbatten.
Kawike lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mountbatten misses with a body shot.
Mountbatten tries to clinch but Kawike is having none of it.
Nice sprawl there from Mountbatten as Kawike shoots in.
Mountbatten throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kawike.

Mountbatten keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mountbatten rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kawike counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A slow jab from Kawike misses its intended target.
Mountbatten tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kawike paws at him with a jab and circles away.
William Mountbatten is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mountbatten misses the shot to the body.
Mountbatten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Donk. Kawike catches Mountbatten right on the button with a cross.

Kawike closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kawike not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kawike connects with a nice short shot to Mountbatten's temple.
Kawike thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mountbatten's head.
Kawike not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mountbatten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kawike. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawike accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kawike drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mountbatten manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kawike has Mountbatten in his guard.

Kawike escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mountbatten gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kawike working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mountbatten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mountbatten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kileki Kawike dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Kawike takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A big right from Mountbatten misses.
Mountbatten throws a series of punches but Kawike moves out of range.
Kawike showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mountbatten.
Mountbatten moves out of range of the leg kick from Kawike.
Mountbatten jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kawike lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Mountbatten connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mountbatten throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mountbatten takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kawike slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like William Mountbatten has been cut.
Mountbatten bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mountbatten steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kawike.
Kawike works over Mountbatten's head and body with a nice combination.
Sloppy strikes from Mountbatten. Those never looked like landing.

Mountbatten gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kawike to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mountbatten takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

William Mountbatten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kawike is pressing down on Mountbatten's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mountbatten is holding on for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kawike, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
