PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Katasonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katasonov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. In Extremo - Wind kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond throws a right hand that misses
and Katasonov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bond throws a lazy uppercut
and Katasonov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Bond falls off balance throwing a combination

so Katasonov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Katasonov throws a big right hand that misses.

Katasonov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bond is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bond has escaped and now he's on top!

Bond stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Bond tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Katasonov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bond works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and Katasonov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bond's guard now.

Katasonov throws and elbow that misses. Bond uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Katasonov's guard. Nice move by Bond!

Katasonov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Katasonov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bond wants to get up but he can't break Katasonov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bond decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Katasonov, up you get!

Bond throws a push kick but Katasonov slaps the foot to one side.
Bond throws a head kick that misses.
Bond tries to clinch up but Katasonov circles away and keeps his distance.

Bond can't keep his opponent in guard - Katasonov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Katasonov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bond is just riding it out for now. Katasonov eventually gives up the hold.

Bond throws a front kick that sends Katasonov stumbling back into the cage.
Katasonov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bond has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Bond turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Katasonov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bond displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Katasonov throws out the jab.
Bond fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Katasonov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Dallas Bond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well Katasonov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
