PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod The Bod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyrstyof Soshykski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rod The Bod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyrstyof Soshykski!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from The Bod. Those never looked like landing.

Soshykski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The Bod manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Soshykski missing with a left hand there. The Bod was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice takedown defense from The Bod. No joy for Soshykski on that attempt.

Rod The Bod has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyrstyof Soshykski.

The Bod is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Soshykski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Bod. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Soshykski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The Bod can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Soshykski controls the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The Bod sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Soshykski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Bod does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Soshykski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Bod circles away quickly and effectively.
Soshykski lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as The Bod backs up against the cage.

The Bod tries to land a leg kick but Soshykski saw it coming and moves away.

Soshykski gets caught flat footed, as The Bod shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Soshykski wants to stand and escape but The Bod is having none of it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Soshykski is keen to just control but The Bod is a slippery customer.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Soshykski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kyrstyof Soshykski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Soshykski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Soshykski tries to pass the half guard into mount. The Bod knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Soshykski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Well, if Soshykski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kyrstyof Soshykski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Let's hope that Soshykski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Soshykski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
