The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckford tries for a takedown but Latura circles away easily
and Latura counters with a left to the body.
Beckford wants to clinch
and Latura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Latura fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Beckford looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Latura lunges at Beckford with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Beckford's hand.
Beckford slips a jab and a cross from Latura.
Latura misses with a double jab.
Beckford fails with the takedown
and Latura counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nice jab there from Latura.
Latura lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Beckford circles away quickly and effectively.
Latura misses with a body shot.
Beckford looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Latura is fending him off so far but Beckford persists. Nope, Latura circles away and we're back to standing.
Kit Latura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Forest Beckford.
Latura moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Forest Beckford has been cut.

Latura works Beckford's body with a nice hook.
Latura scores with a decent looking hook.
Latura throws a series of punches but Beckford avoids them all with ease.

Beckford scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Latura is trying to get back to half guard.
Latura regains half guard.
Latura tries to roll over but Beckford keeps him under control.
Beckford looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Latura with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Latura is looking for a sweep. Beckford is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Latura is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Beckford pulls his head out easily.

Beckford is trying to control the action in half guard but Latura is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Latura wants to get back to his feet.

Beckford is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Latura is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
