Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Joe Blythe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Henderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Ain't No Grave" . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Joe Blythe!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blythe wants to clinch

and Henderson counters with a shoot takedown. Blythe fights it but they end up in guard.

Henderson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Henderson throws and elbow that misses. Blythe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Henderson's guard. Nice move by Blythe!

Henderson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Blythe uses it to pass to side control.
Blythe tries to move to full mount but Henderson actually manages to regain half guard.
Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Blythe seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bobby Joe Blythe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Henderson misses with a head shot. Blythe uses the momentum to regain guard.
Blythe wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Henderson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blythe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blythe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blythe!

and Henderson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blythe's guard.

Blythe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Henderson uses from the top position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Bobby Joe Blythe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blythe tries to get the hooks in deep but Henderson pushed the leg off.
