Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manuel Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Ibragimov!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ibragimov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Castro doesn't seem bothered though.
Castro fails with the takedown.
Ibragimov throws a right hand that misses
and Castro counters with a nice body kick.
Ibragimov looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Castro wants to clinch.

Castro darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ibragimov is trying to control but can't.
Castro tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ibragimov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Castro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Castro content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ibragimov wants to control but Castro is keeping busy.
Castro is trying to control. Ibragimov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Castro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Castro is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Manuel Castro just wasn't active enough.
Ibragimov lands a nice shot to the body.
Castro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Castro loads up on a big right hand but Ibragimov slips the punch.
Ibragimov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Castro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ibragimov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Castro misses with a kick to the body.
Ibragimov cracks Castro with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ibragimov throws a right hand that Castro ducks under and follows up with a left that Castro also avoids with ease.
Castro tries to clinch there but Ibragimov circles away.
Ibragimov swats away the attempt to clinch by Castro.
Manuel Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro fails to land the takedown.

Castro shoots in and gets a takedown into Ibragimov's guard.

Castro gets to his feet. Ibragimov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ibragimov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Castro misses with a body punch
and Ibragimov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Castro thinking.
Castro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Castro could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ibragimov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ibragimov throws a one two combo.
Castro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Castro tries to clinch up but Ibragimov circles away and keeps his distance.
Ibragimov misses with a jab to the body

so Castro counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ibragimov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Castro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ibragimov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castro defends well.
Castro trying to control but Ibragimov is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ibragimov has his foot on Castro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castro works his way back into a safe position though.

Ibragimov pushes a forearm under Castro's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Castro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
