Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joern Otto Bondesen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Pedrosyan!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bondesen darts in trying to clinch
and Pedrosyan counters with a stiff right hand.
Bondesen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bondesen tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pedrosyan counters with a left to the body.
Bondesen wants to clinch

and Pedrosyan lands a stunning uppercut that sends Bondesen to the mat!
Pedrosyan trying to control the action but Bondesen is working from the bottom.
Bondesen is in trouble now - Pedrosyan has advanced to mount!

Pedrosyan looking to finish Bondesen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bondesen!
Pedrosyan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pedrosyan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bondesen is squirming around, avoiding Pedrosyan's attempts to control the action.
Pedrosyan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bondesen swings wildly with an uppercut but Pedrosyan uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pedrosyan jumps guard and drags Bondesen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pedrosyan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bondesen is fighting to break Pedrosyan's control of his arms but Pedrosyan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Bondesen looking to sit in guard and control but Pedrosyan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pedrosyan throws a big right hand that misses.
Bondesen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pedrosyan on the ground.

Bondesen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pedrosyan's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pedrosyan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bondesen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Don Pedrosyan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Bondesen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bondesen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pedrosyan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bondesen looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pedrosyan has control of Bondesen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bondesen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pedrosyan is landing with some decent strikes but Bondesen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well Pedrosyan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
