Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Peabody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pascal Lapointe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pascal Lapointe!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peabody keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Peabody tries to clinch there but Lapointe circles away.

Peabody feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peabody accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Peabody wants to control from the top but Lapointe keeps moving.
Peabody wants to stand and escape but instead Lapointe has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lapointe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lapointe thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lapointe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peabody's guard.

Peabody is trying to stand.
Lapointe trying to mount his opponent but Peabody defends it.
Peabody is looking for a sweep. Lapointe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lapointe trying to pass the guard but Peabody defending well.
Lapointe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Peabody defending well though.

Lapointe is looking for a kimura here.
Lapointe is looking to take a break and control but Peabody is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lapointe works his way into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lapointe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Peabody is breathing heavily.
Peabody dodges the ground and pound from Lapointe.
Lapointe throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Lapointe is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Peabody will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Lapointe has hold of Peabody's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Peabody seems comfortable defending it but Lapointe has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Peabody is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Peabody is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lapointe couldn't care less - he's delighted!
