PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chael Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Dibiasse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swanson comes to the cage accompanied by Mosh by Eminem. Dibiasse has chosen Cant tell me nuttin as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chael Swanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ted Dibiasse!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson swings widly with a right hand
and Dibiasse counters with a good low kick that Swanson was not able to check.
Swanson misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Swanson throws a poor cross that misses
and Dibiasse counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Swanson thinking.
Dibiasse takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Swanson misses with an uppercut

and Dibiasse counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dibiasse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swanson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dibiasse postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Dibiasse missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dibiasse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Dibiasse might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Dibiasse pushing down on Swanson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dibiasse slows the pace down in half guard.
Dibiasse wants to free his trapped foot but Swanson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dibiasse throwing shots but Swanson is blocking nicely.
Dibiasse drops an elbow to the side of Swanson's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dibiasse working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dibiasse looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Dibiasse is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dibiasse stops Swanson from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dibiasse works his way into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swanson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Dibiasse is staying tight to Swanson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dibiasse throws an elbow but Swanson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Dibiasse advances nicely into full mount.
Dibiasse working the ground and pound effectively.
Swanson is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dibiasse sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Dibiasse dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Swanson misses with a hook
and Dibiasse counters with a nice uppercut.

Dibiasse moves into the clinch.
Dibiasse presses Swanson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dibiasse creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dibiasse.
Dibiasse digs a right hand into Swanson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Swanson's gas tank.
Swanson takes a shot to the head.


Swanson is rocked!
Dibiasse creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Swanson with a big uppercut! Swanson tries to clinch up but Dibiasse pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Swanson to the mat! Swanson covers up and Dibiasse unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ted Dibiasse!
