Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Janek Janosik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kily Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Janek Janosik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kily Gonzales!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Janosik fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gonzales sprawls well initially but Janosik persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Janosik is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Janosik is working for a submission of some sort.

Janosik is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gonzales defends it well.

Gonzales looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Janosik is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gonzales sees it coming and defends easily.

Janosik seems to be looking for submissions.

Janosik is looking for a kimura but Gonzales is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Janosik to get the leverage.
Gonzales wants to get back to his feet.

Janosik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gonzales is just riding it out for now. Janosik eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Janosik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Janosik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Janosik can't keep his opponent in guard - Gonzales advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gonzales lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janosik wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gonzales is looking to take a break and control but Janosik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Janek Janosik will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Gonzales misses with a two punch combination.
Janek Janosik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Janosik circles away from the clinch attempt.

Janosik drives through with a takedown into guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Janosik stands and steps away. Gonzales gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gonzales tries to bum rush Janosik with a series of wild strikes but Janosik uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Janek Janosik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kily Gonzales.

Gonzales jumps guard and drags Janosik to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Gonzales is controlling the pace.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gonzales takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Gonzales has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Gonzales counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Janosik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gonzales looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gonzales has one foot on Janosik's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Janosik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Gonzales counters by moving into the clinch.

Gonzales's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gonzales closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Janosik quickly recovers to half guard.
Gonzales wants to take a breather but Janosik is having none of it.
Still in half guard, Gonzales seems content to control.

Gonzales is working for a kimura but Janosik is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Janek Janosik.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Janosik, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
