Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tha Don (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nowak is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 2Pac - Staring Through My Rearview . Tha Don has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tha Don!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karol Nowak!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowak wants to clinch but Don slips to the side
enabling Don to counter with a crisp jab.

Nowak closes the distance and pushes Don back into the cage.
Nowak using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Don has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Don pulls guard.
Nowak trying to move into half guard but instead Don has managed to sweep!
Don landing some decent shots from guard.
Don trying to control but Nowak is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nowak wants to stand but Don is controlling the position.
Nowak being controlled here, momentarily.

Nowak wants to stand up but Don is controlling him.
Don is looking to stand up but Nowak won't let him.
Don passes into half guard.
Nowak is trying to stand.
Don sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nowak defending well though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Don seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nowak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Don uses his free foot to push down on Nowak's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nowak.
Don tries to control but Nowak wriggling away.
Don with good strikes from the mount here!

Nowak wants to try and get back to his feet.
Nowak looks gassed!
Don trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Don looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Don content just to control the position here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Don looking to control but Nowak is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Don is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nowak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Don looking to finish Nowak with some ground and pound. This is bad for Nowak!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Don scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Don tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nowak paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nowak closes the distance looking to clinch
and Don counters with a stiff right hand.
Don wants to clinch up but Nowak keeps it at a distance.
Nowak tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Don counters with a leg kick.
Don keeps the fight on the outside.
Nowak slaps away a takedown attempt from Don, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Don or perhaps it was just good defense by Nowak which made him look bad.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tha Don. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nowak moves in looking to clinch but Don pushes him off.
Don shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nowak as he avoids it easily.

Don throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nowak looks to clinch

and Don counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Don.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Don gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Nowak tries to clinch but Don is having none of it.

and Nowak holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Don tries to work over Nowak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Don goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nowak prevents it.
Don jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nowak walks away with a smile on his face. Don gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Don misses with a body shot.
Nowak tries to clinch
and Don counters with a head kick.

Nowak has Don up against the cage in a clinch.
Don tries to break free but Nowak pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A bit of stalling here from Nowak.
Don is trying to break the clinch but Nowak is controlling him.
Nowak stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A knee to the head by Nowak.
Don misses with a short punch on the inside.
Don tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nowak smiles and moves away.
Don tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Nowak counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nowak landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
A nice right hand lands inside from Nowak.
A right hand to the body from Nowak.

Nowak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nowak closes the distance but Don moves to the side

and Don counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nowak won't be happy with that.
Don working the ground and pound.
Nowak is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Don asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Don thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Don wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nowak keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Don lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Don decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nowak to his feet.
Don shoots in looking for a takedown. Nowak tries to sprawl out of it but Don keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nowak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Don fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nowak looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tha Don dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Nowak closes the distance and clinches.
Nowak is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Don is defending well for now.
Nowak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Don's defenses.
Nowak is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Don fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Don has had enough of the clinch but Nowak keeps him there for the moment.
Nowak slowing the pace effectively.

Nowak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Don wants to clinch but Nowak slips to the side

and Nowak counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nowak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nowak tries to clinch
and Don counters with a low kick, right behind Nowak 's knee.
Nowak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Don counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Don engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Nowak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Don works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Don passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nowak!
Don takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Don wants to control the pace but Nowak is squirming around nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nowak can do anything to dispel that myth.
Don has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nowak's face.


Nowak is rocked!

Nowak is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Don locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nowak is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tha Don!
