Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Mondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wright has chosen Knocks you down as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mondo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wright throws a solid leg kick but Mondo takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wright.

Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Wright is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wright has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mondo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nick Mondo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Wright.

Wright breaks from the clinch.
Wright misses with a takedown attempt - Mondo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mondo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wright has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mondo uses from the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mondo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wright has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mondo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wright.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
