Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markku Oramo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Sushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sushi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sushi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sushi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Oramo misses with a lunging right hand
and Oramo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A head kick misses from Sushi.
Oramo swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Sushi counters with a right hand to the body.
Oramo throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sushi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Sushi scores with a hook.


It looks like Markku Oramo has been cut.
Sushi slips a straight right by Oramo.

Sushi throws a sloppy head kick
and Oramo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sushi throws a sloppy head kick and Oramo moves out of range easily.
Yoshi Sushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sushi throws a head kick that Oramo semi-blocks.
Sushi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Sushi thows a body shot but no joy.
Sushi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oramo.

Sushi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oramo throws a sloppy body shot
and Sushi counters with a thumping low kick.
Oramo throws a right hand that misses
and Sushi counters with an inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sushi moves in looking to clinch but Oramo pushes him off.
Sushi cracks Oramo with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Sushi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Oramo!

Sushi has control of Oramo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Oramo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Oramo regains half guard.
Sushi passes the guard and advances to mount!

Sushi lands a nice shot to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sushi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Oramo?
Oramo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sushi looking to control but Oramo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Sushi counters with a body kick.
Oramo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sushi.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sushi.

and Sushi counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sushi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Oramo's head.
Sushi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sushi pushes down on Oramo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sushi is trying to control. Oramo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sushi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Oramo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Oramo is looking to control Sushi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Oramo avoid being mounted?
Sushi wants to take a breather but Oramo is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Oramo is looking for a sweep. Sushi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sushi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sushi throwing shots but Oramo is blocking nicely.
Oramo trying to control but Sushi postures up.

Sushi wants to work for an arm triangle but Oramo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sushi scoring with strikes to the body and head.


Markku Oramo's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Oramo tries to get to full guard but Sushi has control of the leg.
Sushi is trying to control the action in half guard but Oramo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sushi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oramo!

Jeez, Markku Oramo's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Markku Oramo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
