PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Prime Terce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diamonte Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terce comes into the arena with Let it roll blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Prime Terce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diamonte Perry!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terce throws a head kick but Perry moves out of range.
Diamonte Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Terce swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Terce throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Terce is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Perry tries to clinch up
and Terce counters with a stiff right hand.


Perry is rocked!

Perry rushes Terce and presses him up against the cage.
Terce throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Perry blocks it with crossed arms.
Terce looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Perry is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Terce tries to break the clinch but Perry is controlling the position.

Perry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Terce misses with a wild combination.
A punch combination from Perry misses.

Perry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Terce stands and steps away. Perry gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Perry has Terce up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Perry lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Perry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Terce shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perry sprawls well. Perry wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Terce gets slowly back to his feet.
Terce gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Perry counters with a nice double leg into side control. Terce won't be happy with that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Terce wants to control but Perry postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Terce is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Perry has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Perry tries to advance position but instead Terce slips a leg back in to half guard.
Terce is trying to maintain the position but Perry is very close to passing his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Terce looking for submissions off his back.
Terce is staying active underneath Perry, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Perry looks gassed!
Perry misses with a head shot. Terce uses the momentum to regain guard.
Perry wants to control from the top but Terce keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Terce uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Terce cracks the inside of Perry's front leg.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Terce manages to break the clinch.
Terce tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Perry takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Terce dives in and grabs Perry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes down on Terce's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Prime Terce. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Terce closes the distance and clinches.

Terce manages to break the clinch.
Terce shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Perry eats them both and turns towards Terce to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Terce lands an overhand right.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Terce lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Perry is still on wobbly legs! Can Terce finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Perry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Terce counters with a two punch combo.

Terce forces Perry back against the cage and clinches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Terce takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Perry seems to have recovered his senses.
Terce is looking to break free of the clinch but Perry has double underhooks.
Terce tries to break free but Perry pushes him back against the cage.
Terce can't get the takedown.

Terce pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Terce is looking to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Terce.

Terce stands up and beckons Perry to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perry moves to clinch but Terce breaks away
and Terce counters with a one-two to the body.
Terce throws a head kick that misses.
Terce takes a shot to the body in his stride.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prime Terce dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Perry doesn't manage to clinch there - Terce circles away.
Perry swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Terce counters with a body kick that stops Perry in his tracks momentarily.
Terce moves in looking to clinch but Perry pushes him off.
Terce scores with a decent looking hook.
Terce is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Terce scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
You can see the frustration on Perry's face as Terce controls the position.

Terce has hold of Perry's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Perry seems comfortable defending it but Terce has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Perry is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Perry is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Terce couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Prime Terce!
