Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Goodridge decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.
Goodridge is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Goodridge tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Goodridge could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Goodridge slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Goodridge wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jones dodges the ground and pound from Goodridge.
Goodridge is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Goodridge is breathing heavily.
Goodridge misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Jones is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jones tries to hold on but Goodridge pushes him away.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Goodridge unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.

Goodridge throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gary Goodridge will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones lands a big uppercut and Goodridge crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Goodridge looks OK. Jones waves Goodridge back to his feet!
It looks like Gary Goodridge has been cut.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Dave Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Goodridge.

Goodridge displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Goodridge uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.

Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Goodridge.
Goodridge tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Goodridge somewhat.
Goodridge backs away from a small jab...but Jones lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Goodridge crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Jones with a spectacular finish!
