The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doakes swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Anderson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Anderson thuds his right hand into Doakes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Doakes throws a combination that misses
and Anderson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
James Doakes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Anderson counters with a nice uppercut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anderson throws and elbow that misses. Doakes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Doakes!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
