The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maceachern throws a sloppy head kick

and Sirovica counters with a single leg into guard. Maceachern didn't expect that.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sirovica is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sirovica accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sirovica stands up over Maceachern, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sirovica is working Maceachern over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Maceachern is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sirovica tries to free his leg and advance position but Maceachern is retaining full guard.

Sirovica got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maceachern has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sirovica has managed to get both his arms back between Maceachern's legs - danger averted.
