Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Trickle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trickle looks to clinch
and Strife counters with a slapping leg kick.

Strife closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Trickle drops down looking for an ankle pick but Strife pulls his leg out and moves away.
Trickle throws a leg kick

and Strife counters by moving into the clinch.
Strife lands a good knee to the midsection. Trickle won't want to take too many of those.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Strife throws a knee to the head but misses.
Strife lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Strife breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Strife counters with a lovely straight right hand!
John Strife has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Trickle.

Trickle rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Strife cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Strife ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Trickle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Strife.
Strife slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Strife connects with a body shot that sends Trickle's belly button to the back.
Trickle shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Strife moves into range and clinches up with Trickle.

The referee is keeping an eye on Strife - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Trickle is trying desperately to land a takedown but Strife is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Trickle.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Strife holds on and takes a little breather.
Trickle is looking to advance position but Strife has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Trickle is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Strife stands up from mount. Strange move.

Trickle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Strife's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Trickle creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Strife sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Trickle fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Trickle postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Trickle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Strife is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Strife sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Trickle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Strife is trying to maintain the position but Trickle is very close to passing his half guard.
Strife is doing well to control the position and prevent Trickle from advancing to side control.

Trickle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Strife defends it well.
Strife manages to get to full guard.
John Strife is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Strife utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strife bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Trickle's guard.
Strife slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Trickle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Strife is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Trickle with good strikes from the mount here!
Cole Trickle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trickle can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Strife is looking to escape.
Strife tries to hold on but Trickle postures up.

I would just about give that final round to Cole Trickle.
