Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Matrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Albano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Matrix might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Locust . Albano has chosen Lou's Theme as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albano throws a front kick aimed at Matrix's knee but Matrix avoids it well.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Matrix, as that shot connected.

It looks like Lou Albano has been cut.

Albano swings for the body but Matrix moves out of range.
Albano fails with an attempt to clinch.
Matrix throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Albano has eaten all the pies!

Matrix looks to clinch

and Albano holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Albano breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Albano throws a low kick but it's checked well by Matrix.
Matrix tries to clinch but Albano moves out of range.
Matrix doesn't manage to clinch there - Albano circles away.
Dutch Matrix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Matrix wants to break the clinch but can't.
Albano pushes off an throws an elbow but Matrix leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Matrix is trying to maintain a safe position but Albano gets an underhook and turns Matrix into the cage.

Matrix has had enough of the clinch but Albano keeps him there for the moment.

Albano turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Albano manages to end up in side control.
Matrix is trying to escape the position but Albano is controlling the position.
Let's hope that Albano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Matrix is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Albano is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Matrix will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lou Albano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Matrix tries to clinch but Albano moves out of range.
Matrix stalks Albano and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Albano's face. Albano staggers backwards, shaken.

Matrix gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Albano keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Matrix.
Matrix wants to clinch

and Albano counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Matrix's guard now.
Albano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Albano's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lou Albano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That has opened up Lou Albano's cut even more.
Dutch Matrix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Matrix, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Albano thows a body shot but no joy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Albano throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Albano throws a solid leg kick but Matrix takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Albano.

Matrix throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Albano on the side of the head.
Albano fails with an attempt to clinch.
Matrix slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The cut above Lou Albano's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Albano looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Albano is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Albano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Matrix looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Albano takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Matrix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Albano on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

and Albano counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
