The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atayev misses with a double jab
and Nelson counters with a single leg into guard. Atayev didn't expect that.
Atayev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nelson is one step ahead there.
Atayev looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Nelson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Nelson is working for a kimura but Atayev is defending it quite comfortably.
Atayev is trying to get back to full guard.
Nelson moves into full mount! Atayev won't be happy about that!

Nelson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Atayev tries to reverse the position but Nelson maintains control.

Nelson looking to secure an arm triangle but Atayev defends it well.

Nelson wants to finish this one by submission but Atayev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nelson.

Nelson blocks a head kick by Atayev.
Atayev throws a leg kick that misses.
Nelson gets the takedown into side control.

Nelson advances nicely into full mount.

Nelson has isolated one of Atayev's arms. Atayev looking to fight him off but Nelson twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
