Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corey Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Valor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Valor!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne tries to clinch there but Valor circles away.

Payne drives through with a takedown into guard.
Payne controls from within his opponent's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Valor holds on and takes a little breather.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Payne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payne trying to stand up but can't free himself from Valor's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Payne's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Valor has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Payne is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Valor.

Payne decides to stand back up. Payne steps back and let's Valor get back to his feet.

Valor moves to clinch but Payne breaks away

and Payne counters by moving into the clinch.

Valor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Valor misses with a takedown attempt
and Payne makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Valor tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Payne counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Valor looks to clinch

and Payne counters with a head kick that drops Valor to the mat! Valor scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Valor is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Valor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Payne counters with a body kick.
Valor is still on wobbly legs! Can Payne finish him?
Valor looks gassed!

Payne moves into the clinch.
Valor seems to have recovered his senses.
Valor throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Paynes head.
Payne tries to score a body lock takedown but Valor shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Payne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Valor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Payne.

Payne manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Valor on his heels. He'll look to pass Valor's guard now, I'm sure.

Payne slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Valor keeping moving, preventing Payne from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Payne trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Valor scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Payne shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Payne trying to mount his opponent but Valor defends it.

Payne is looking to take a break and control but Valor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Payne working over Valor with some ground and pound. Valor looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Payne is thwarting Valor's attempts to control the position.
Payne working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Payne tries to pass the half guard into mount. Valor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valor avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Payne.
Valor tries to get to full guard but Payne has control of the leg.
Valor tries to kick Payne off in order to stand up. Payne Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Payne just content to control the position.
Valor is trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valor can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corey Payne dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Payne shoots in for a takedown but Valor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Payne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

and Payne counters with a nice double leg into side control. Valor won't be happy with that.

Payne tries to advance to mount but Valor denies him.
Valor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Valor is looking to regain half guard here but Payne keeps moving and retains side control.

Payne stands up and beckons Valor to his feet.

Payne connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Payne dodges the punch combination from Valor.

Payne gets in close and instigates a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Payne has hold of one of Valor's legs. Valor is fighting the takedown attempt but Payne gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Payne tries to free his leg and advance position but Valor is retaining full guard.

Payne is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Valor has escaped the position, nice work there.
Valor wants to control but Payne postures up.

Payne tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Payne has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Valor closes the distance but Payne moves to the side
and Payne counters with a left and a right that stings Valor.
Valor doesn't manage to clinch there - Payne circles away.

Valor instigates a clinch.
Valor tries to break the clinch but Payne is controlling the position.
Payne has Valor pressed against the cage, preventing Valor from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Payne pulls Valor into guard.
Valor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Payne bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Valor's guard.
Valor working a defensive guard but Payne manages to pass into side control anyway.
Payne in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Payne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valor keeps working.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Payne decides to stand back up.

Valor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Valor gets caught flat footed, as Payne shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Valor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Payne defends well.

Payne stands up from Valor's guard - Payne perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Payne counters with a three punch combo that has Valor backing up. Valor nods at Payne to acknowledge the strikes.

Valor is looking to clinch but Payne is avoiding it.

Valor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Valor scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Valor doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Payne counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Payne.
Corey Payne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Valor.
Valor trying to keep a closed guard but Payne is proving a slippery customer.

Valor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Payne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Payne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Payne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Valor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Payne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Payne pushes Valor up against the cage in a clinch.

Corey Payne showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Payne has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
