Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Gilles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colin Evans told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilles shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Evans tries to get to full guard but Gilles has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gilles is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Gilles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Evans doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gilles.
Evans tries to roll over but Gilles keeps him under control.

Evans is staying active underneath Gilles, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gilles is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Evans has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gilles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Evans defends it well.
Evans works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Evans is on top in guard.
Gilles has a closed guard, preventing Evans from standing up.

Gilles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well.

Evans gets to his feet. Gilles looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Evans looks to land a combination. Gilles sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Max Gilles has been cut.

and Evans cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Colin Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Evans counters with a crisp one two that drops Gilles! Evans thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gilles to his feet! Gilles is in big trouble!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Evans looks to land a combination but Gilles avoids it well.
Oh Gilles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
