Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Hui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is Bodies. A fine choice. The key to victory for Anderson Silva has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hui is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A cross from Silva lands.
Silva lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hui walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hui takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Silva lands a big head kick that sends Hui tumbling to the mat! Silva takes a step backwards and waves Hui back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Silva counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Hui closes the distance but Silva moves to the side
enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hui looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hui shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Silva cracks Hui with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Silva's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hui under the eye.

Nice uppercut there from Hui.
Hui tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Hui on that attempt.
Hui digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hui circles away quickly and effectively.
A chopping leg kick lands by Silva.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hui takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hui doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Silva lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Silva connects with a leg kick. Hui looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hui's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Silva connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hui scrambles back to his feet.

Silva shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hui eats them both and turns towards Silva to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Silva counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hui's knee momentarily.
Hui has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Silva.
Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hui doesn't seem bothered though.

Hui seems to have recovered his senses.
Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hui. That did some damage!

Silva gets tackled into the cage by Hui. Hui maintains the clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Hui throws an elbow but misses.

Hui closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Hui pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hui is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Hui's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Silva lands a leg kick that knocks Hui off balance momentarily.
Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hui tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hui.

No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hui takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hui. Hui circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
