Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Papi Lon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilong Ranger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Papi Lon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ilong Ranger!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ranger tries to keep at a distance but Lon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lon is trying to drag Ranger to the mat but Ranger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lon falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ranger counters with a one-two to the body.
Lon could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ranger lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ranger sprawls well. Ranger wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lon gets slowly back to his feet.
Ranger darts in trying to clinch

and Lon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ranger tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ranger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Lon breaks from the clinch.
Ranger shoots in looking for a takedown but Lon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ranger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Papi Lon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilong Ranger.
Ranger lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Lon looks for a takedown but Ranger sprawls well.

Ranger gets tackled into the cage by Lon. Lon maintains the clinch.

Lon decides to pull guard.
Ranger trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lon manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Lon works over Ranger with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ranger controls Lon momentarily but Lon frees himself.
Ranger keeping moving, preventing Lon from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ranger is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lon is breathing heavily.
Ranger is trying to hold Lon in close to prevent damage but Lon has managed to pass into half guard.
Lon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ranger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ranger is not content to let Lon control the position.
Ranger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lon is really struggling to control Ranger but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Ranger trying to hold on to Lon's head to control him but Lon postures up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ranger's head.

Lon decides to return to a standing position.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ranger is defended easily by Lon.

Lon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ranger is trying to control Lon's posture but Lon avoids it.
Ranger is trying to buck Lon off.
Lon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ranger has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ranger is looking for a sweep.
Lon working away.
Lon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ranger's legs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ranger tries to bench press Lon off him but Lon keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ilong Ranger dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Ranger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lon but Lon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lon clinches with his opponent.

Lon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ranger misses with a takedown

and Lon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lon wants to clinch up but Ranger keeps it at a distance.

and Lon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lon.

Ranger has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lon wants to control from the top but Ranger keeps moving.
Lon postures up in Ranger's guard and throws a big left but Ranger blocks it.

Ranger is looking for a triangle but Lon pushes his legs off easily.
Ranger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lon is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ranger has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ranger.
Lon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ranger is avoiding damage well.
Ranger struggling a bit here.

Lon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ranger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lon off and has taken his back!
Ranger throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ranger's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lon is in bad spot here.
Lon covering up well under a series of strikes from Ranger.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ranger's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lon is covering up but some of the strikes from Ranger are getting through and doing damage.
Lon controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Papi Lon dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Ranger goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ranger tries to avoid it but Lon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ranger to the ground. Ranger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lon is looking to advance position but Ranger won't allow it.

Lon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Nice takedown defense from Lon. No joy for Ranger on that attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ranger shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lon counters by clinching up.
Papi Lon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilong Ranger.

Ranger throws a combination. Lon tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ranger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lon defends it nicely.

Ranger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lon circles away.
Lon throws a combination that misses
and Ranger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ranger tries to bum rush Lon with a series of wild strikes but Lon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Lon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ranger trying to stall but Lon improves his position.
Lon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ranger avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Lon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Ranger keeping moving, preventing Lon from controlling successfully.

Lon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ranger works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Ranger is trying to control the position but Lon postures up.
Lon is pushing down on Ranger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ranger is fighting to maintain full guard but Lon has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Ranger is kicking away at Lon from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Lon grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Ranger trying to push Lon off... Ranger taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Papi Lon!
