The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirai throws a lazy uppercut
and Hirai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hirai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Hirai.

James stuffs the takedown attempt from Hirai. Hirai gets slowly back to his feet.
James looks for a takedown but Hirai sprawls well.
Hirai throws a head kick that misses

and James counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hirai won't be happy with that.
Hirai is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hirai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

James has hold of Hirai's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hirai seems comfortable defending it but James has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hirai is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hirai is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but James couldn't care less - he's delighted!
