Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rj Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe McGaleb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dias comes to the cage accompanied by Mortal Kombat Theme. McGaleb has chosen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZnhuOEUFXA as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rj Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe McGaleb!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGaleb gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McGaleb thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dias is looking to control McGaleb's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dias avoid being mounted?
Dias gets back to full guard.
McGaleb preventing the sweep.

McGaleb postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dias is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGaleb, into his guard.
McGaleb keeping moving, preventing Dias from controlling successfully.

McGaleb looking for a sweep. Not yet McGaleb, not yet.
McGaleb throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Dias stays in close to McGaleb's body and controls the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGaleb can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rj Dias has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

McGaleb clinches up against the cage.
McGaleb gets through Dias's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dias's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McGaleb shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dias gets a takedown into half guard.
Dias wants to take a breather but McGaleb is having none of it.
McGaleb tries to roll over but Dias keeps him under control.
Dias is looking to advance position but McGaleb won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dias wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGaleb keeps working.
McGaleb tries to get to full guard but Dias has control of the leg.
McGaleb is staying active underneath Dias, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
McGaleb moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McGaleb is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
McGaleb tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dias sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

McGaleb throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dias tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McGaleb is in Dias's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McGaleb trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McGaleb loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McGaleb advances to half guard.
Dias keeping control of the position.
Dias trying to hold on to McGaleb's head to control him but McGaleb postures up.

McGaleb is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe McGaleb will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dias scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dias is looking to take a break and control but McGaleb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dias not doing much here.
Dias seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGaleb does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGaleb trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Dias manages to pass to mount!
Dias trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Dias controlling the position easily from mount.
McGaleb is squirming around, avoiding Dias's attempts to control the action.
Dias content just to control the position here.
McGaleb tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dias wants to control the pace but McGaleb is squirming around nicely.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McGaleb really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dias tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dias seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McGaleb for as long as he can get away with.

Dias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rj Dias just wasn't active enough.
Dias looks to clinch

and McGaleb counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dias controls McGaleb momentarily but McGaleb frees himself.
McGaleb not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
McGaleb wants to control from the top but Dias keeps moving.
Dias tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joe McGaleb.

Dias drives through and clinches with McGaleb against the cage.

Dias is fighting off a takedown attempt but McGaleb is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dias to the mat. Dias regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
McGaleb throwing strikes from guard but Dias blocks nicely.
McGaleb is in close to Dias's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dias has control of McGaleb's left arm, preventing McGaleb from doing any damage.
Dias looking to control.
McGaleb is looking to work some ground and pound but Dias has wrist control.
Dias pulls McGaleb in to control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McGaleb wants to pass the guard but Dias is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Joe McGaleb will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Dias tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dias has his takedown stuffed
and McGaleb counters with an inside leg kick.

McGaleb drives through with a takedown into guard.
McGaleb works over Dias with some ground and pound from guard.
McGaleb is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dias wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

McGaleb drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dias looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dias looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dias!
McGaleb tries to improve position but can't.

McGaleb is not content to let Dias control the position.
Joe McGaleb has got the better of the ground game so far.
McGaleb wants to control but Dias postures up.
Dias wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGaleb keeps working.
McGaleb tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dias wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGaleb is trying to control Dias's posture but Dias avoids it.
Dias trying to control the position but McGaleb is working away.
McGaleb tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dias wants to control but McGaleb is keeping him busy.
Joe McGaleb is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rj Dias just wasn't active enough.
Dias misses with a takedown attempt

and McGaleb counters by moving into the clinch.
Dias tries to pull guard but McGaleb holds him up against the cage and eventually Dias drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rj Dias. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dias blocks an elbow strike.
Dias is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McGaleb is defending well for now.

McGaleb lands an elbow just above Dias 's eye.
Dias content to slow the pace in the clinch.

McGaleb breaks from the clinch.
McGaleb shoots for a double leg takedown but Dias sprawls well. He's pushed McGaleb's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McGaleb closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dias did well to prevent McGaleb getting side control.
Dias tries to roll over but McGaleb keeps him under control.

Dias pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Dias looking to score a takedown here. McGaleb is defending well but Dias drives through and ends up in McGaleb's guard.
Rj Dias has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Joe McGaleb comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McGaleb has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
