Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Colslaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vick Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Colslaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vick Armstrong!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colslaw tries a head kick but it misses.
Armstrong thows a body shot but no joy.
Mark Colslaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Armstrong takes a swing at Colslaw's ribcage but misses.
Armstrong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Colslaw avoids it really well and circles away.
Colslaw throws a half hearted mid kick.
Armstrong throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Colslaw sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Armstrong decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Colslaw's guard.

Armstrong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Armstrong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Armstrong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Colslaw pushes Armstrong away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Armstrong gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Colslaw is looking to regain half guard here but Armstrong keeps moving and retains side control.
Colslaw takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Colslaw parries the strikes from Armstrong easily there. Armstrong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Colslaw to escape.

Armstrong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Colslaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Colslaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Armstrong on the ground.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Armstrong looks to score with a jab to the body but Colslaw is just out of range.

Armstrong has hold of Colslaw's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Colslaw manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Colslaw bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Armstrong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Armstrong looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well Armstrong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
