Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Saldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, DEAR ENEMY!!. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saldo shoots and misses
and Vera counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Vera seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

so Vera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Vera looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saldo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Saldo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Vera stacks Saldo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Vera!
