Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Foxall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Maxwell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Foxall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Maxwell!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foxall scores with a takedown into Maxwell's guard.
Foxall trying to control the position from guard on top but Maxwell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Maxwell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Foxall defends it easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Maxwell is adopting a defensive guard.
Maxwell looking for a sweep. Not yet Maxwell, not yet.
Foxall passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Foxall working the ground and pound but Maxwell is defending the strikes.

Foxall tries to advance to mount but Maxwell denies him.
Foxall in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
You can see the frustration on Maxwell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Foxall throws an elbow but Maxwell slips to the side and avoids it well.

Foxall stands up and beckons Maxwell to his feet.

and Foxall counters with a single leg into guard. Maxwell didn't expect that.

Maxwell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foxall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Foxall drops back, looking for a kneebar! Maxwell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Maxwell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Maxwell!
Foxall regains half guard.

Maxwell seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Foxall has recovered full guard.
Maxwell looks gassed!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Maxwell stopping the sweep attempt from Foxall.
Foxall wants to get back to his feet but Maxwell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Maxwell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Foxall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Maxwell has gone for a leg lock! Foxall slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maxwell's guard.
Foxall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Foxall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Maxwell's guard.

Foxall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Foxall works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Foxall goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maxwell has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Foxall but great work by Maxwell.

Maxwell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Foxall has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Maxwell but great work by Foxall.

Foxall has hold of Maxwell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Maxwell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Foxall is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Maxwell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Maxwell shrugs it off.

Foxall wants to control the pace but Maxwell is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Foxall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Foxall looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Foxall closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maxwell to the mat! Maxwell manages to get full guard.

Foxall has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Foxall goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Maxwell is on top in guard.

Maxwell looking to sit in guard and control but Foxall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well Foxall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
