The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nichols.
Gracie blocks a head kick by Nichols.
Nichols looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Nichols throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nichols tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nichols to the ground. Nichols escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gracie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nichols.
Nichols looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.

Nichols feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gracie's calf.
Chris Nichols seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Nichols. Gracie shrugs it off though.

Gracie is trying desperately to land a takedown but Nichols is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gracie.
Nichols paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nichols lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Gracie crumples to the floor! Nichols milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
