Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinton scores with a hook.
Hinton fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hinton. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hinton throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Smith moves to clinch but Hinton breaks away
and Hinton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hinton gets the takedown into side control.
Smith is trying to improve his position.
Smith is working hard here to advance position.

Hinton is putting a hurting on Smith here, landing some big shots from side control.
Smith on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Hinton looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Smith is avoiding damage well.
The referee asks Hinton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hinton prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Hinton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hinton's jab looks to have found its range, popping Smith under the eye.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Scott Hinton wasn't active enough on the ground.
Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hinton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Hinton on that attempt.
An inside leg kick from Hinton misses.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Hinton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hinton misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely.

Smith wants to clinch but Hinton slips to the side
and Hinton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hinton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hinton is looking to slow Smith down with leg kicks.
Smith staying out of range there.
Smith fails with the takedown
and Hinton counters with a nice uppercut.
Hinton thows a left - swing and a miss!

Hinton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hinton misses with a left hand

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hinton!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hinton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hinton on the ground.
Hinton wants to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hinton throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Scott Hinton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Smith throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hinton.
Smith throws a wild body kick that Hinton sees coming a mile off.
Hinton ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Smith tries to clinch up
and Hinton counters with a low kick, right behind Smith 's knee.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hinton throws a shot to the body.

Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Hinton fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Smith on the side of the head.
Smith takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hinton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smith misses with a body kick.
Smith moves out of range of the strikes.
Blake Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scott Hinton seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Smith takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hinton throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Scott Hinton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left lands for Hinton.
Smith defending well as Hinton loads up on a big left hand.
Hinton throws a hook but Smith blocks it.
Hinton catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hinton sends Smith crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hinton is motioning to the referee to let Smith up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Smith is rocked!

Hinton throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hinton misses with a two punch combination.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Hinton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Good shot there by Hinton.
Hinton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hinton missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hinton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hinton throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it.
Scott Hinton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hinton missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hinton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick
and Hinton counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hinton lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hinton lands a slapping body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hinton finds it's way round the side to connect with Smith's head.
Hinton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

And that's the end of the fight!
Scott Hinton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hinton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
