Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Clarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Helguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clarke comes into the arena with Van Canto - Wishmaster blaring out of the sound system. Helguson has chosen A Horse With No Name as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Marcus Clarke had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helguson thumps Clarke with a low kick.
The fighters circling - Helguson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Helguson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Clarke gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Helguson.

and Helguson counters with a left to the body.
Clarke takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

and Helguson counters with a series of strikes. Clarke will be more careful next time no doubt.
Clarke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Helguson.

Clarke shoots in looking for a takedown but Helguson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Clarke's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Helguson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Helguson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clarke manages to avoid it.

A bone on bone clash there as Clarke blocks the leg kick.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Clarke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Helguson tests Clarke's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Clarke shoots in looking for a takedown. Helguson tries to sprawl out of it but Clarke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Helguson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Helguson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Clarke's sensitive parts.
Helguson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Helguson looks to land a combination but Clarke avoids it well.

Helguson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Clarke at a distance.
Helguson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Clarke wants to clinch but Helguson slips to the side
and Helguson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Helguson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Helguson wants it to stay on the feet.
Helguson throws a nice looking combination but Clarke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gunnar Helguson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Helguson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Helguson thuds his shin into the meat of Clarke's side.

Helguson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Clarke's head.
Clarke is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Clarke avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Clarke shoots in for a takedown but Helguson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Helguson lands a nice shot that snaps Clarke's head back.

Clarke is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Helguson's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Clarke wants to work for an arm triangle but Helguson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Clarke is looking to take a break and control but Helguson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Clarke is looking to advance position but Helguson won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Helguson gets back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Helguson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Clarke trying to control but Helguson is working from the bottom.

Clarke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Helguson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Clarke, into his guard.
Helguson trying to control the position from guard on top but Clarke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

I've got Helguson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
