Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Byron Nickerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Day Man!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Man looks to land a left hand but Nickerson moved out of range nicely.
Man connects with a solid leg kick.
Man throws a leg kick which misses Nickerson's front leg but catches the back leg as Nickerson tries to avoid it.
Man lands with a kick to the temple. Nickerson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Man throws a lazy head kick

and Nickerson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Man pulls Nickerson in close to prevent any damage.
Nickerson wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.
Man working a defensive guard here.
Man really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nickerson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Man working for a triangle but Nickerson defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Man controlling the position.
Nickerson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Man works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Nickerson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Man pulls Nickerson in close to prevent any damage.

Nickerson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Man dives on top into guard.
Man sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Nickerson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Man defends well.
Nickerson wants to sweep here but Man controlling him for the moment.

Nickerson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Man escapes and throws Nickerson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Man moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Nickerson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nickerson is pressing down on Man's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Man with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Man must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nickerson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Man is defending well. Nickerson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Man has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nickerson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
